Construction Update: Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge

🚧 Construction Update: Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge 🌉

Work is moving forward on the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over French Valley Channel in the Community of French Valley! This bridge will connect the French Valley Library to Susan LaVorgna Elementary School, creating a safe, vehicle-free path (with emergency access only) across the channel.

🔹 Current work: Installing reinforced concrete columns & preparing temporary support structures (falsework).
🔹 Estimated completion: Summer 2026
🔹 No traffic impacts. We’re working to minimize noise for nearby neighbors.

Pauba Road and De Luz Road Weekly Update

Pauba Road Widening: Pauba Rd will continue to be closed until further notice between Via Del Monte and Mesa Verde Circle to allow crews to safely excavate the proposed retaining walls areas.  Pauba Rd is estimated to reopen on Friday (06/20/2025).  Traffic detour route will follow Rancho California Rd. Please DO NOT ENTER “ROAD CLOSED” areas. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs and detour signs, and follow traffic staff’s directions. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

De Luz Road Culvert Replacement: Crews are continuing to replace multiple culverts on De Luz Rd.  Roads will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations during working hours at the intersection of De Luz Rd & Rancho California Rd and between Calle Corto & Via Vaquero Rd.  Please observe construction warning signs, use caution, and follow traffic control staff’s directions. A Street & Nuevo Road Resurfacing - Weekly Status - Week of May 19th

We’re pleased to announce that paving, striping, and signage installation have been completed on A Street (from Nuevo Road to Harvill Avenue) and on Nuevo Road (from A Street to approximately 1,472 feet south of A Street) in the Community of Mead Valley, Riverside County.

In the coming week, the contractor will install the remaining traffic signal backplates. The project is on track for full completion by next week.

De Portola Road Drainage

We continue with the construction of the De Portola Road Drainage Improvements project between Shiraz Way and approximately 650 feet northerly in the Temecula Valley Wine Country area within the Community of Rancho California of Riverside County. Contractor is currently working on new proposed retaining wall.  

 Note: There are multiple construction projects on De Portola Road (Rancho Water District, Eastern Municipal Water District, and County of Riverside). Please observe construction warning signs, follow traffic control staff’s directions, and use caution while travelling through. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge - Weekly Update

Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge Construction Update

Community of French Valley

Construction is ongoing for the Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge over the French Valley Channel. This bridge will span the existing gap along Skyview Road where there is currently no crossing, connecting the French Valley Library on the northwest side to Susan LaVorgna Elementary School at the southeast corner of Skyview Road and Via Santiago/Algarve Avenue. The bridge will provide a multipurpose path for pedestrians and bicyclists, with vehicular access limited to emergency vehicles only.

At this time, the contractor is working on drainage system installation and preparing the site for bridge construction.

Estimated Completion: Summer 2026

Traffic Impact: None.

Additional Notes: Construction noise will be monitored and minimized to reduce impacts on the surrounding neighborhood.

Weekly Construction Update – De Luz Road

Crews continue work on drainage improvements along De Luz Road. During the week of April 21, 2025, potholing operations will take place to locate underground utilities. Expect De Luz Road to be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic at multiple locations during working hours.

Please follow all posted construction signs, obey traffic control staff, and use extra caution while traveling through the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Construction Notice – A Street and Nuevo Road Improvements

Construction is underway on the reconstruction of approximately 0.8 miles of asphalt pavement along A Street (from Nuevo Road to Harvill Avenue) and Nuevo Road (from A Street to 1,472 feet south of A Street) in the Mead Valley area of Riverside County. Work is expected to be completed by June 2025.

The contractor has removed the existing asphalt pavement on both A Street and Nuevo Road and is scheduled to complete paving next week, in coordination with local schools’ Spring Break.


Please observe all posted construction signs, watch for equipment and crews, and use extra caution while traveling through the area.


Important Note: The roadway is narrow, with loose gravel and shifting conditions during work hours. Drive carefully and be prepared to share the road.

Briggs Road Construction Project Starting April 28

Briggs Road Construction Project Starting April 28

The County of Riverside Transportation Department will begin road repairs and overlay work on Briggs Road from Golden J Street to Pat Road starting April 28.

This project includes removing damaged pavement sections, compacting the sub-grade in those areas, and applying a new overlay along the full project limits. To ensure safety and efficiency, Briggs Road will be closed to through traffic during construction. Flaggers and a pilot car will be on-site to guide local traffic safely through the work zone.

Electronic message boards will be installed on April 21 to alert drivers of the upcoming work. These boards will be placed on Menifee Road (south of Scott Road) and at Pat Road.

Construction is expected to be completed by mid-June. For any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact Highway Operations at (951) 955-6899.

Nuevo Area Resurfacing Group, Weekly Update

Road improvements in the Nuevo Community are close to completion. Throughout the week of 04/01/2025, the contractor will be performing minor asphalt concrete work within the following project limits:

-12th St from Reservoir Ave to Y Ave

-13th St at Reservoir Ave

-Stalder Ave from Ramona Ave to Lakeview Ave
